Regardless of your past or how you feel at the moment, God desires a great future for you. A future full of joy, hope; a future free of pain, worry and lack. The good news is that this future is available to anyone and everyone. That future has been reserved exclusively for you. It is a Heavenly inheritance.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Peter 1:3-5 NKJV
3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4
The question is: What will I give to get this future? What can make me miss this future?
In the Scripture reading below we can see a list of things that can cause one to miss out of the promise.
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:7
We must die to self.
It may sound like a misnomer but one does not really begin to live until they are “ready to die”. The glory of the future is better than the pleasures of today. Anything that hinders your devotion to God can stop you from reaching that future.
God has the best in His mind for you; don’t miss it!
