You Have a Father!

One of the present challenges of our time is the lack of good fathers. Fathers who are invested in the lives and well being of the children God has placed in their lives; fathers who would go through any length to preserve and nurture offspring –whether biological or adopted—in their care. This lack has resulted in a crisis in our world where a lot of young men have no good role model to follow.

However, in the midst of this lack, it is great to know that we have a Father, the ultimate Father! God has demonstrated to us who a true father is. One who provides his children with identity, protection and “good gifts”.

In Matthew 7: 7-11 Jesus says:

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! “

More than any human Father, God cares and sees to everything that concerns His children. He clothes the lilies of the field and cares for the sparrows, how much more you.

God promises that He’ll be a Father to those who separate themselves unto Him. He has given the power to anyone who believes in His name to be His son.

He says in 2 Corinthians 6:16-18

16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore

“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”

18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”

John 1:12 King James Version (KJV)12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Our Heavenly Father is UNLIMITED. He is accessible and reliable. An earthly father may be limited in resources or even the wisdom needed to care for his child, but God is not. He will not abandon you in the race of life. No matter what you will have to go through, His love is everlasting. Nothing can separate you from His love. Allow Him to define who you are. You can rely on Him, you can trust Him. Will you?
